The Songwriter Recording Artist is handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, using a thermally aged Sitka spruce top that is paired with a rosewood back and sides. The 25.5" scale mahogany neck has a comfortable Round profile, and is fitted with a smooth-playing, bound ebony fretboard that is equipped with 20 standard frets and adorned with mother-of-pearl diamond eye inlays. The neck has a compound dovetail joint and is attached to the body using hot hide glue for a stable connection and maximum tonal transfer. The bound headstock has a rosewood veneer that features the Gibson logo and Crown inlaid in mother-of-pearl. The nut is bone, and high-quality gold Grover® open-back tuners are fitted. The bridge is also ebony and is equipped with a bone saddle and TUSQ® bridge pins, and decorated with mother-of-pearl arrow inlays. The thermally-aged Sitka spruce top is protected by a custom line tortoise pickguard and features a wide abalone rosette.

This active design utilizes two lightweight sensors mounted to the internal bridge plate, each paired with its own optimized preamp.
